Family friendly. Peaceful relaxing beach town. Choose from the ocean beach or calm river beach for families. Plenty of playground fun too. Everything's walking distance, all within one block. Only a few restaurants, although they're great quality. If you want more Ocean Grove is only a short drive. Lovely boutiques with gifts and homewares.

Dinner was excellent. Room was far below expectation and should be used as a storage area. Not worth paying for. Hotel heating/air conditioning machinery was jammed up against Room 5. No view at all and extremely noisy, so no sleep. Sounded like a jet plane especially just before dawn. Bathroom activity was open to view for houses across the road.

Barwon Heads is a lovely place to have a family holiday for parents and children of various ages. It is perfect for people who love to swim and to do activities like paddle-boarding and surfing. In the afternoon, the river is lovely to swim in and there are stunning surf beaches near-by. The town also has a number of cute shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to explore and indulge.

Barwon Heads is a wonderful small little town. Where ever you stay, you are with in walking distance from the local cafes or restaurants. Groceries are not a problem to find with a local IGA down the main street or a Coles not 10 minutes up the road in ocean grove. In Summery, if you are looking for a place to take yourself or the family away for a relaxing weekend/holiday, then Barwon Heads wont disappoint.

Barwon heads is a gorgeous town but the accommodation let it down , it looked so nice in the photos but when you walk in it and looked around and stayed at the sandpiper 01 we couldn’t wait till sat to come around we had hardly any sleep had to wash dishes before we ate off them , dirt and bust in some of the rooms , wifi was crap , the blinds in kitchen and dinning area were see through so we had to be careful at night as you could see right in so we had the lights off in those areas at night and the lights from across the driveway and the laundry window shone in the place all night had to shut our bedroom door all night , we couldn’t wait to leave not a good experience
